If we think of Italy, for example, the Institute of Marine Science of the CNR in Genoa, together with Greenpeace, analyzing the Mediterranean Sea found microplastic values equal to about 3.56 fragments per cubic meter. Among the other analyzes, a worrying fact about our country emerges among all: Italy is the second country in the world for consumption of water in disposable bottles. Therefore, if on the one hand it is essential to educate people to recycle correctly this material, on the other hand, it is important to find new solutions for product packaging.
Eco-design is one of these. Eco – design in fact means redesigning the packaging to make a small contribution to environmental sustainability and reduce the impact on the environment.

Mentre una nuova ondata di COVID-19 avanza, il pianeta soffre sempre più per questioni legate al cambiamento climatico e all’inquinamento che raggiunge livelli troppo elevati. Per salvaguardare il pianeta si può agire in vari modi, uno di questi è senz’altro quello di diminuire l’incidenza della plastica e sostituirla con altri materiali, sostenibili, riciclabili e riutilizzabili.
Nel mondo, 8 milioni di tonnellate di rifiuti di plastica finiscono negli oceani ogni anno. Se pensiamo all’Italia, ad esempio, l’Istituto di Scienza Marine del CNR di Genova, insieme a Greenpeace analizzando il mar Mediterraneo ha riscontrato valori di microplastiche pari a circa 3,56 frammenti per metro cubo. Un’enormità.
Tra le altre analisi, un dato preoccupante sul nostro paese emerge tra tutti: l’Italia è il secondo paese al mondo per consumo di acqua in bottiglie usa e getta. Perciò, se da un lato è fondamentale educare le persone a riciclare in maniera corretta questo materiale, dall’altro è importante trovare nuove soluzioni per il packaging dei prodotti.
